Beyond writing, character headcanon generators are also a boon for role-playing game (RPG) enthusiasts. In RPGs, character development is key to an immersive experience. By using a generator, players can quickly create detailed backstories and personalities for their characters, enhancing the overall gameplay.

Its important to distinguish between these vastly different corners of fandom because they arent all in conversation with one another — and when they are, they often approach the conversation very differently. If you believe in the work we do at Vox, please support us by becoming a member. It requires resources, dedication, and independence. Please note, if you do happen to give it another solid shot, feel free to touch base with me, I'm always looking for players to delve into RP with, and I do mean always. Anyway those power-tripping 15 year olds are 25 years old now, post-shutdown. After making (and encountering) young heroines and villains with troubled past and times spent in juvie, I decided to flesh out the place and see if others wanted to add their stories to it.

All of those things are non-human and often unnatural, making the implication that those nonbinary individuals, too, are unnatural. In general, if youre centering a species or non-human entity as nonbinary, make sure to approach nonbinary humans in the text itself, even if you do so simply by having the non-human entity aware of their gender in relation to human gender concepts. Canon Reliability Not all canon is created equal. When we, as fans of a property, examine lore to determine how useful it is to our purposes, we need to recognize that the source of what we believe is canon isnt actually very useful.

Her Silmarillion headcanon generator Survey now exists in several iterations and seeks to gather data on fan theories on any number of questions and ideas floating about the fandom. Scedasticity was good enough to answer my questions on the Silmarillion generate headcanon Survey, its origins, its current status, and its future. Well, if we play in a group and multiple people consider themselves part of the same storyline/AU then any effect on the world itself must be discussed by everyone involved. You cant just declare that a planet never got blown up by yourself, if its important to everyones storyline. If you come up with a feasible way for an in-universe thing to work, show it off, share it with people. Get everyone agreeing with it, and if they dont just limit it to how you play the character when no one else cares.

On one level, the difference is one of evidence and perceived legitimacy. There are a lot of people out there who, to put it charitably, invest a great deal of their personal identity in the fandoms theyre a part of. To these people, the works of fiction theyre focused on are often very few in number, and constitute entire worlds in themselves that exist beyond the bounds of the text, just as our own world exists. Its only natural to develop intense headcanons with little basis in the text if you inhabit this environment, because you lack other works within which to find the traits youre attributing to characters in the works youre reading. It seems utterly reasonable to me to say that if someone assumes a character is, say, from Canada, when theres basically zero evidence within the text to support this, that its not in any meaningful sense a reading of the text. Yet, if they need Canadian representation for whatever reason, and they only really care about five works of fiction, its easy to see why theyd expand the worlds theyre concerned with such that Canadians are present.
